Copper acetate

Copper acetate, also widely known as Cupric Acetate, is a chemical substance used as a fungicide, a pigment for making blue-green paint, and as a catalyst and an oxidizer in organic synthesis. It emits a blue-green blaze when burnt. Generally, it can be used as an intermediate in manufacturing of Paris green; a catalyst for organic reactions, including rubber aging; a pigment for ceramics; a fungicide; and also, it can be used in textile dyeing. Binuclear copper acetate monohydrate is a typical example of this type and has been investigated by experiments on its geometrical structure, magnetic properties, and electronic spectra. In a recent study, Asphalt and copper acetate are shown as chemical inductors which can enhance maturation of ova and increase vitellogenesis in the two genera of teleostean fishes,Clarias batrachus andOphiocephalus punctatus. And copper acetate is seen to hasten enlargement of a large number of oocytes while asphalt increases their yolk content. It is also noticed that in the eggs with more yolk the granulosa is prominent.
